Happy 23 months old

Eli turns 23 months old officially on 6 June 09. I’m actually late to update his development, and he is going to celebrate his 2 years old birthday in less than a week soon.

weight – 11kg
height – 89cm
milk intake – 3 times a day, Enfagrow twice and Pediasure once.

At 23 months old :-
- He is quite hard to be controlled lately, perhaps in his terrible 2. He likes to throw things and also likes to punch Jo. Sometimes i worry he would accidentally throw something to Jem too.
- His appetite is back to normal, he is no longer keeping food in his mouth, so feeding him can consider a bliss now.
- He likes only poultry but not vege.
- He likes lollipop and Mentos very much, has never failed to take himself one when he sees them at the supermarket.
- He can speak in sentence, knows English, Mandarin and Hakka well.
- He wears disposable diaper at night only. He knows where to find his potty when he has the urge to pee and poo. Totally independent.
- He hardly shows jealousy over Jem. He will pat Jem gently while she’s crying.
- He likes toy car very much, loves to line up them in a row at the verge of the bed.
- He likes sticker, handiplast and all sort of things which are sticky, sort like he can have his secure feel from those sticky things. Definitely hard to wish this weird habit away!
- Had his hair trimmed on 8/6, his new hair style looks like HK star, “八两斤”.

Had my birthday celebration on 16/5, the day before hubby went back to CN. Ordered a box of cupcakes from Deana and had a simple celebration at home, no candles light and no birthday song but with some photos shooting. Since i was still in my confinement, so actually the birthday was not fun at all.

On my actual birthday which is on 18, my best friend, Pui Ying, who is currently staying in Texas asked her mother sent me a birthday cake to my parents’ house, at night, they sent the cake to me and i ate the cake immediately once i saw it as i had been craving a PANDAN cake for quite a while. My ji-mui is definitely can read my mind so well.

As for the birthday present, hubby insisted the bag is my birthday present although the bag should be a Christmas present of yr 2008, since i only got the bag in MAY, so it has become to my birthday present instead. Friend of mine got it from Paris, i was initially thought that i could save a lot since getting from Paris is about a thousand Ringgit cheaper than getting from HK, but ended up my bag was taxed by Malaysia custom and go my RM800. At first they asked for RM1200, luckily my friend managed to bargain it to RM800. So eventually this LV Tivoli no longer a cheap bag (euro 770 (after VAT discount euro 105) + RM800)!

The bag has been sitting and collecting dust at the corner for about 2 weeks, finally i have time to take a look on it this morning. Gosh, i am really ran out of personal time!

Baby Jem turns 1 month old officially on 29 May 09.
weight – 4kg
height – 53.5cm

As date, We had a full moon celebration with relatives and friends at hubby’s Inanam house. Hubby had a short stay in KK (27/5 – 31/5), he actually purposely came back to KK again for Jem’s full moon celebration after 17 days (1/5 – 17/5) of staying in KK. I really appreciate the “heart” he showed towards us, he had taken many days of leave throughout the month of MAY, not to mention how much he had spent on air tickets. *loud applause to hubby*

Next, let the photos do the talking: -

A “speech” given by hubby before the dinner started.

A “prayer” given after the “speech”, then followed by a song ~ praised the lord.

Started eating.

Few friends of mine.

Hubby with his friend, Robert, and his son, Dexter.

Jem has serious throaty sound, as if she has a lot of phlegm that causing her has difficulty in breathing. And, yesterday, i found a thickly and greenish phlegm in her vomitus. She has been coughing and has runny nose since last week, might have caught the germs from my CL. Other than that, she regurgitates at least once a day, normally it happens at night. When the regurgitation happens, she’d vomit a lot, like a bottleful. I don’t know why, CL did burp her and put her in an upright position after every feeding, but the regurgitation problem is still here, perhaps she’s overfeeding or…? Hopefully the regurgitation can be resolved asap since breast milk is so P.R.E.C.I.O.U.S!

Jem startles a lot when she sleeps, no startle response when i put her to sleep on her tummy, but she hates it and she’d groan. She like being carried from the moment she gets up, starts crying if i lay her down, so i wonder how to wean off this habit. The CL is still with me here, but once she leaves, i don’t think i’ll have free hands to carry her.

Her eyelashes, have gradually grown longer. And she is free from pricky heat at last. :)

Eli turns 22 months old officially on 6/5/09.

Weight – 11kg
Height – 89cm

Eli in the care of my mum ever since baby Jem was born, so basically i only able to see him at night. Hubby still in town but he is going back to China on this coming Sunday, so from Sunday onwards, both Jo and Eli will be staying at my parents’ house till i finish my confinement, i am fine with the idea and i am more at ease to let the boys stay with my mum. My mum has even started potty training Eli, hopefully he can finally bid goodbye to his diaper.

Eli is getting cheeky as he grows up and he has never failed to show me his intelligence. He is a busybody so he learns thing more faster, at least faster than Jo. :) He is a parrot too, likes to imitate people though he still can’t speak properly.

He has low appetite as if taking meal is torturing him. Luckily he is okay with his milk, be it Enfagrow and Pediasure. Other than these 2 milk powders, i also mix my breast milk into his milk, so now, i am proud to be a moo for 3 kids.

Hubby took him to consult doctor at SMC on Wednesday (13/5) morning because he has swollen right hand, got stung by an unknown insect and the swelling got worse at Tuesday night that made him could not sleep well throughout the night. What a pity boy who is allergy prone, but according to doctor, that’s nothing about allergy and it’s way common for little kids get such a similar symptoms after being bitten by insects. Actually, a bit contrary to my belief! Doctor advice is, don’t put any ointment that would heat up the bite area, better use something cool which can relieve the itchiness and ease the swelling.

Jem sleeps like a log during daytime, nothing can make her awake unless she is hungry. But the drama would begin when comes to night especially right after i off the light. She’d cry softly first then follow by a loud cry if nobody is approaching her. She likes being carried, and would stop making fuss after i carrying her or after i offering my breast to her. But it doesn’t last long as she would cry again right after i put her down. So normally i have to repeat this “carry her up, offer my breast and put her down” for umpteenth time before it’s time to call it a day. Then after those routine torments, she would normally sleep through the night provided i didn’t wake her up. But, i like to arouse her and nursing her in the wee hours of the morning, simply because i wanna to soften my breasts.

At 14 days old : -
- Jemima is fully breastfed and has frequent bowel movements.
- Jemima’s skin is still wrinkled especially her thighs.
- She loves to smile after her feed.
- She has protruding belly button, it protrudes even more while she’s crying. Seems like an umbilical hernia.
- Though her umbilicord stump has dropped off, i still can see a little blood on her diaper and sometimes her shirt.
- Her spiky hair is getting longer and longer. :)
- She sweats a lot even with the air-cond on.
- She has dried and cracked skin around.
- Her nose is full of milium (yellow dots).
- She has a loud throaty sound, like having lot of phlegm.
- She has prickly heat around her neck, because of skin touches skin.

A precious smile, even she’s just a “few-hours-old” baby

“Wake up, go and deliver your baby lor”, i heard a voice whispering in my ear, it seemed like a dream but the voice was so real to me, just like there was one talking to me.

Woke up from the dream and found that my panties was wet, i was initially thought that the wet was like the usual secretion that i had but NO as i felt the water was slowly leaking there. It was 12.32am then…

I took the thick towel quickly, as if it’s a pad, and the water started to leak heavily once i stood up and walked. I aroused my mother from her slumber and quickly got my hair a wash. While i was washing my hair, i suddenly felt that perhaps i didn’t prepare my hospital bag well, i think i was just too tension so simply felt like everything was completely unordered although i have prepared everything well and have already prepared myself to give birth anytime even without hubby. Easier said than done because i was still like going wild.

1:14am – leaving house
1:17am – arrived at K.K Specialist Center
1:19am – called hubby
1:40am – CTG test, irregular and mild contraction every 3mins, 3cm dilated
2:10am – had a shave and went to toilet
2:30am – out from toilet

From then onwards, the contraction came every 5 mins. At 5am, the nurse came in and gave me a check, i was still no fully dilated and the contraction started to come closer every 3 to 4 mins. At 6am, the nurse came in again and i had the blood pressure test, everything was fine. At 6:20am, the nurse told me i was 5cm dilated, and told me she is going to induce me if i still do not have strong contraction and no labor sign after 8am. I was getting real panic after i was told the word “induce” because i hate being induced.

At 8am, the combination of strong and mild contractions were getting closer and i had the feel that the baby was likely to born soon. I then pressed the button to inform the nurse, so at 8:10am i was sent to labor room. At 8:20am i had the pain killer injection, and in 6cm dilated.

8:40am – 8cm dilated
8:45am – 9cm dilated, and the nurse made a call to doctor

But, the phone call was too late, in just 5mins, my baby Jemima was born and was delivered by midwife, Agnes.

I was extremely drowsy after giving birth, and i mumbling a lot there. I told the nurses and doctor i wanted to drink a COKE, maybe out of sympathy, the nurse really went to the kopitiam and got me a tin of COKE. And the nurses kept saying “kasihan, tak ada husband di sini“, i felt very sad suddenly when i heard it even i was very drowsy. I didn’t know why i could have such a feeling since this time was not a first time for me and i should have known how to handle my loneliness but i still couldn’t control myself. Perhaps the injection made my mind thinks wildly.

That’s my labor story..nothing special indeed. Lastly, let the photos do the talking…

The rain was finally falling at 3:40am while i was lying on the hospital bed, suddenly i missed my Jo and Eli so much, and suddenly i wondered why Baby Jemima wanted to choose today as her birthday and why she didn’t want to wait for his daddy? Hubby is still in China and just another 2 more days hubby will be in KK again, and what’s more, i drive myself to hospital and admitted myself at 1:17am. Even the nurses asked me “kamu sendiri? mana husband?:)

Well, actually i just wanna make a  short announcement here ~ Today at 8:50am, Baby Jemima is finally here, arrived 1 week early than my actual duedate. She weights 2.8kg and both mommy and Baby Jemima are doing well, see, i still can ONLINE even i am resting on the hospital bed. :)

Pregnancy checkup #7 – #11

Pregnancy 23 Comments »

Had my pregnancy checkup #7 on 11/3/09 (32w) at “Chun Tian Hospital” (深圳春天医院), China, 5 days before i boarded the plane back to Sabah.

The nurse didn’t check my blood pressure, weight and my urine till i asked for! Had high white blood cells (125 cell/ul) in urine but the doctor didn’t give me any medicine and just asked me to drink more water to flush out the bacteria. So, this was a 2nd times i had high white blood cells in my urine. *roll eyes*

Other than that, i was told that my amniotic fluid was not enough but according to the doctor, there’s nothing the matter.

The scan was so detailed : -

26.69cm/s, RI:0.56, SD:2.29. *sorry, no translation*

Paid RMB129 for the checkup, a very cheap checkup fee as compared to HK’s checkup.

——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

Back in KK so had my pregnancy checkup #8 on 19/3/09 (33w1d), supposed to see my gynae on 27/3/09, but due to having bladder pain i headed to my gynae without any prior appointment making.

Blood pressure – 120/60
Weight – 74.7kg
Baby’s weight – 1819 grammes/ 1.819kg (4.01 pounds)

Everything was doing fine, amniotic fluid was enough, so felt like the doctor in China was very inexperienced since she said my amniotic fluid was not enough. That’s why i love the doctor in KK, more convincible. The baby was a bit small in size and i had another round of bladder infection. Had an antibiotic for a week. Was advised to drink more water and change panties as often as possible.

Doctor said my duedate might be a week later than my actual duedate, which was on 13 or 14 May according to the measurement from the scan. Didn’t know why, the baby was just so small in size.

——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

Had my pregnancy checkup #9 on 2/4/09 (35w1d).

Blood pressure – 110/60
Weight – 76.6kg
Baby’s weight – 2571 grammes/ 2.571kg (5.67 pounds)

This time my urine was cleared, and the baby was back to normal and healthy size. No wonder i have gained about 2kg in 2 weeks time. Doctor then announced my duedate should be 1 or 2 days before or after my actual duedate, which the actual duedate is on 6/5/09.

——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

Had my pregnancy checkup #10 on 16/4/09 (37w1d).

Blood pressure – 110/60
Weight – 75kg
Baby’s weight – 2871 grammes/ 2.871kg (6.33 pounds)

My weight dropped! All the while i have a round and protruding belly button, but suddenly i couldn’t see my belly button anymore unless i lean down my head. Yeah, the dropping of belly button has given me a sign that my baby’s head is engaged and the other day i even thought that i would be going to give birth soon… :)

——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

Had my pregnancy checkup #11 on 23/4/09 (38w1d).

Blood pressure – 110/60
Weight – 77.1kg
Baby’s weight – 2871 grammes/ 2.871kg (6.33 pounds)

Baby didn’t gain weight for the past week but the mommy has gained 2.1kg in a week, but most probably was owing to water retention since i started to have mild swollen feet on and off. This round, my urine test shown negative again, sigh, another round of high white blood cells in urine. But doctor didn’t prescribe any medicine for me, because i didn’t urinate back and forth within a short time, was just advised to drink more water. Actually i have been drinking a lot of water due to the bloody hot weather in KK but i was really out of idea why i have always suffered the high white blood cells in urine even since pregnant with little Jem.

Doctor asked me how active of my baby so far, OMG, actually i didn’t do any fetal kick count for this pregnancy as a result of my ME time have been fully occupied by the clingy boys everyday, i even realized that i hardly felt her kick recently but i was not sure whether she didn’t kick me or i have taken her movement/kick as “nothing”. Then the doctor suggested me to do the CTG test to confirm whether the baby’s heart beat was still normal and whether i had the contraction. Of course, everything was fine and i am still around.

And, i have been under the weather since last Monday, weather has been too hot recently and i have been feeling like i am a toast in the oven everyday. I hope i can recover as soon as possible since my baby is almost due, i really don’t want to pass the flu germs to my newborn baby.

*when will the rain come?:(
